Dr Liam Fox, prominent Leave campaigner, has said: “It is a momentous decision for the country and the public need to hear the arguments in detail and the consequences their votes will have.”
He is so very right.
But this is not about a narrow debate on whether David Cameron’s renegotiation is acceptable or not.
The Referendum is not about whether to accept or reject the results of that negotiation.
The Referendum is about something far more fundamental – Does the UK Remain in the EU or Leave the EU.
The Leavers campaign seems to be based on getting out of the EU, full stop end of story.
Much the same as quitting your job without knowing when, where, how you can get another job, much less whether another job is going to be better than the one you have at the moment.
Do the Leavers have a rationale, logical plan for a post-EU UK, how to replace the trade agreements, the protections for workers rights, the protection of consumer rights, the freedoms that are part and parcel of the UK’s membership of the EU.
If the Leavers set out their replacement for EU membership we can debate whether their proposition for the future is BETTER than Staying with the UK’s membership of the EU.
But just what are the Leavers offering us just what is there post-EU proposition?
